In The Studio Jewellery School
Course Descriptions

The first day begins with learning the basics of small scaled fused glass, using Dichroic glass to make pendants and/or cabochons. The course will cover choosing glass, adding metal inclusions, layering glass, how the hole is created during fusing, stages of fusing and annealing and finishing. Students will start the day by making a basic pendant or cabochon up to 1.5 x 2 inches and watching it through the firing process. Then moving on to more complex pieces, with each student having an kiln shelf area of 2.5 x 4 inches to make another two large or several small items. The second day will be turning the beautiful dichroic pieces made on day one into wearable jewellery using precious metal clay. To learn more about precious metal clay please see the details of our Precious metal clay course.

For £50 we will be providing a pack containing the materials used during your course which includes the glass, dichroic glass and the precious metal clay.
