Mount Making
The tutor for this course is Teresa Speer . During the course using silver, copper and guilding metal, students will make collets from sheet and also from tube, with and without daylight gallery.

A claw set, a rubover together with a peg set will be made. 2 types of shanks for receiving these types of mounts will also be made. The course covers using different shaped collet blocks to finish shaping. Multiple peg settings for small round faceted or cabochon stones will be made. A simple jig for holding parts in place for soldering will be made. This course is for students who already have some ability with basic soldering and some previous experience of basic jewellery making tools.
